This is 100% GUARANTEED decorative item by the famous Zlatoust Factory of Engraving on Steel, not a Chinese fake or a replica! Comes in its original packaging with inventory and QC paper tag attached and the factory’s trademark logo embossed on the box in gold. Inside the box is a separate paper insert advising on the proper handling of such items. It warns that such items may be covered in protective oily substances which should be removed only using dry soft cloth. If in need of later cleaning, it recommends applying a light coating of Vaseline and then wiping it off with dry soft cloth. In steel, lacquers, gilt with some content of real gold. A small hole at the top of the artwork can be used for hanging the art on the wall. At the bottom, we read the inscription “г. Златоуст, 2006” (city of Zlatoust, 2006). The reverse surface is covered with a protective layer to prevent corrosion and features two ink stamps, one with the name of the factory and the other the QC stamp. The item is in mint condition, showing zero wear or damage of any kind. Zlatoust is a small city in Chelyabinsk Region near the southern end of the Ural Mountain range. Its steelworks are world-famous not only among art collectors but, first and foremost, for its famous edged weapons. The phrase “Zlatoust steel” is firmly associated with “blades of the highest quality”. And artistic beauty of engraving on them, we must add. Its tradition goes back to 1754 when the Russian Emperor ordered to build a metalwork factory on the banks of the river Ay. In 1815, two master engravers from the Solingen metalworks in Germany were invited to organize production and three years later the results, 19 blades of excellent quality and beauty, were presented to a very satisfied Emperor.
