Description: To be continued on ebay ...at auctions and in my "AmidesBooks" Storea Very important set of books (some with dedications) of Science fiction, Fantastic, Police literature, Various magazines old or recent, Poetry, Literature,  from the Publishers Library Hélène and Pierre-Jean OSWALDWith of course a very large number of titles from the various collections of the "Neo" editions, including the rarest ...Pierre-Jean OswaldPierre-Jean Oswald, born September 25, 1931 and died September 28, 2000 in Paris, is a French publisher. He notably publishes novels and theatrical and poetic works, most often on his own account. He defends the authors and the subjects less put forward, especially after the movements of revolt of May 1968. In the early 1950s, Pierre-Jean Oswald became an editor and "discoverer", settled in Honfleur and then Paris. He then devoted himself to a collection of poetry in pocket format to make known poets like Franck Venaille or the Breton Paol Keineg. In 1957, he published The Poets of the Algerian Revolution. From 1960, he published the magazine Poetic action.  In 1977, forced into bankruptcy, he had to suspend his activity, which left 300 authors without publisher. In the 1980s, with the help of his wife Hélène (1929-2017), he resumed his activity as editor and discoverer of little-known texts, with the creation of the New Oswald Editions (Neo), specialized in popular literature, mainly the science fiction and fantasy but also the detective story. Both have done remarkable work in promoting and publishing very important foreign authors.in the realm of the fantastic, which so far were unknown in France (in particular Clark Ashton Smith). He also publishes the complete works of Sherlock Holmes and Harry Dickson. Ten years later, he launched editions of the Eighth Art, devoted to cult television series. He ends his publishing career at Editions des Belles Lettres   -POLAR(Review)The Policeman's Magazine- PolarPolar is a magazine devoted to the detective story and its authors, who define themselves as Le Magazine du Policier.HistoryThe number 1 appeared in April 1979. The editor-in-chief is François Guérif whose editorial situates the journal in the continuity of the journals Alfred Hitchcock magazine and Mystery magazine which ceased to appear in 1975 and 1976 and is placed under the "moral patronage" of Maurice Renault, founder of Éditions OPTA, ofAlfred Hitchcock magazine and Police book club. The initial editorial committee is made up of Richard Bocci, who is also director of the publication, Serge Clérambault, François Guérif, Michel LEBRUN , Pascal Mérigeau and Roland Proval. The purpose of the review is "to keep up with the news, present new news and sometimes poorly known authors. "Each issue has a folder devoted to an author with an analysis by Jean-Pierre Deloux, often an interview, a bibliography, if necessary a filmography and generally a new unpublished. The first file is devoted to William Irish. The number 4 is an exception since it includes 6 news and the usual sections. In each issue, reviews of novels, films and TV series are published. Michel LEBRUN keeps a Crimoscopy column there and from number 24, Jean-Patrick Manchette publishes his Black Notes. The magazine knows 4 versions. From number 1 to number 21, the publication is monthly except for the indicated bimonthly 21 due to the difference between number 20 (July 1981) and number 21 (October 1981). 2 special issues containing news are also published. The title Polar is subtitled the policeman's magazine. From number 22 (January 1982) to number 28 (October 1983), after being picked up by Nouvelles Éditions Oswald, the publication is published quarterly. There is a double numbering, number 22 being number 1 of the new series. In 1984, for 2 issues, she takes the name of Polar magazine, the Magazine of Roman Noir and Cinema Policier. In 1990, taken up by Éditions Rivages, the magazine reappears under the title Polar quarterly review. The director is François Guérif and the chief editor is Michel LEBRUN . Jean-Pierre Deloux, Stéphane Bourgoin, Alain Demouzon, Éric Libiot and Jean-Patrick Manchette are members of the editorial committee. The numbering starts again at number 1 and 24 numbers as well as 4 special numbers devoted entirely to authors are published until May 2001.For each of the 4 attempts to publish the review, low circulation is the cause of failure, the review therefore ended in 2001. -"Polar"(1st Series)Monthly# 3June 20, 1979 File: Robert BLOCH  First Printing Stapled booklet, In-8 format, (24x16cm), 66pp., Soft cover illustrated in colors (Good general condition, clean, light. yellowed, small folds, wear, marks or rubbing on flats or back) see visuals ...  Good copy, a little yellowed like clean and fresh insideIllustrations, Photographs   -As always, grouped shipping costs in the event of the purchase of several works ...     To be continued on ebay ... at auctions and in my "AmidesBooks" Store from the Publishers Library  Hélène and Pierre-Jean  OSWALD including the rarest ...
