Description: THIS PARTICULAR COIN Bronze Prutah Jewish revolt against Rome year three (3) coin. 68/69 AD.. When Israel revolted against Rome in 67 AD, they kicked the Romans out of Israel and established their own independent nation. Immediately, Israel started minting their own currency with images symbolic of Israel and within Jewish law. On one side it has a narrow necked amphora and the Hebrew inscription “Year 3.”” The reverse has a vine branch with leaf and tendril and the Hebrew inscription for “Deliverance of Zion.” The symbols here refer to the important agricultural products of olive oil and wine. Unfortunately for the Jews, their revolt against Rome failed, their Temple was destroyed, and Rome became the ruling power again in Israel. After a second Jewish revolt was attempted in 132-135 AD, the Jewish population was eventually sent into the exile of the Diaspora.
