Bindings professionally rebacked with later leather to spines. Rubband small chips to corners. Some rubbing to boards and edges. Strong reinforced inner hinges. Bookseller label to corner of endpaper “W.J. Sackett Birmingham.” Neat inscription to prelim “Thomas Cholmondeley, given to me by Richard, Sackett’s.” Some mild foxing spots to title pages, occasional minor spotting to inside pages. One or two neat pencil notes in text. Else very good clean and tight early copies. xliv + 382pp & xxii + 432pp. Profusely illustrated with B&W wood-engravings by T.
