Because this is a Cleansing Conditioner and therefore doesn't produce suds, it cleanses & conditions at the same time without stripping the hair. BEST THING? You only use one product. End the long run you save money, time, & bathroom shower space with having only one product. You don't have to buy a shampoo and a separate conditioner because it is all in one bottle.
