Description: This is a map of a section of the Town of Merrick, Long Island, New York in 1873. Recently reproduced on fine natural color parchment, this map is 11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame or can be matted to fit a larger museum quality mat. The pictures provided show only portions of the actual maps, please feel free to contact me with any questions! Contained on the map are finely detailed locations of the homeowners of Bellmore and Merrick. It appears that this area was once called New Bridge and Vicinity along with a reference to Smithville South. Specifically the area is from Merrick Ave. to Bellmore Ave. and Merrick Rd. North to Broad St. Some of the surnames which are clearly printed are Baldwin, Smith, Richards, Merritt, Petty, Seaman, Hines, Ely, Titus, Miller and so many more that it's impossible to list! Also indicated on the map are schools, named streets and rivers/streams. It would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything! What a great genealogical treasure to be able to locate the homes of one or more of your ancestors! Multiple purchases can be combined for one shipping charge!
