Description: Belief and Action: An Everyday Philosophy London: Cassell & Company, Ltd, 1937. First edition. 366 pp. Green cloth with gilt lettering. Near Fine with sharp gilt, small hole in rear endpaper, in Very Good unclipped dust jacket, worn along top edge, a little unevenly toned. Inscribed by an unknown hand on title page, "[illegible] della[?] Samuel" perhaps in Italian, looks a bit like author's signature but could very well be a presentation on his behalf by someone else or something of that sort. Rare in jacket. The author's first full-length book. He was the first practicing Jew to lead a major British political party, the Liberals, and as the High Commissioner of Palestine from 1920-1925, was also the first Jewish person to govern the historic state of Israel in 2000 years.
