By sitting in a chair and rehearsing the red memory items, while moving your hands, you will hopefully get some muscle memory for when you need to perform the memory items in the simulator scenario. The other advice is to buy the procedures manual and practice the preflight checks on the C90, because half the battle in flying a King Air is the preflight checks that have to be completed on the ground.
