We do not see any maker’s marks on the turtles and are unsure as to who made them, though we do believe they were made in China. We are also uncertain as to how old the turtles are and are guessing that they are either vintage or antique. The turtles appear to be made from brass and were not attracted to a magnet when tested. They have intricate multi-colored patterns throughout with nearly identical designs. They do differ however in color scheme with the most notable difference being the primary color, one being a solid blue, the other being mottled blue and black. The turtles measure roughly 3” in length from the tip of their heads to the backs of their shell lids when mounted. Please note that for the 4 low-angle photos we accidentally had the shells swapped. The combined weight of the turtles is roughly 5 oz. The turtles have aging, scratches, nicks, dirty and/or stained areas, and general wear throughout.
