Description: I don't really know the exact details on the bayonet. It is old and cool. Comes as shown in photos. Sold as-is This is an email I got from someone who knows about these things. "Bayonet shown is a U.S. M1905 Bayonet issued for the M1903 Springfield rifle. This bayonet, when originally issued had a smooth backed 16 inch blade. Some were cut down to 10 inches for use on the M1 Garand in WW II. However: 1)No U.S. bayonets were ever issued with the sawtooth ridge on the back. This must have been done in imitation of the German Engineering troops WW I Sawtooth bayonet. 2)M1905 Bayonets cut down for use as M1 bayonets in WW II have plastic handle grips and a rounded tip. They did not have wood hand grips and a clipped tip as this bayonet does. The bayonet pictured here is a highly unofficially modified M1905 Bayonet in extremely poor condition. I have collected for years and have never seen one advertised on eBay rusted and pitted this badly before."
