First, in "Under the Red Hood," the resurrected Jason Todd - the second Robin - engages in a campaign of destruction and vengeance in Gotham City, against both the man who killed him - the Joker - and the man who failed to save him - the Batman. Knowing all of Bruce Wayne's tricks, to say nothing of his secret identity, Red Hood asserts himself as crime boss of Gotham City, subverting the Black Mask, and manipulating Bruce into an unwinnable position where he is forced to kill the Joker! Then, in the followup prequel "Red Hood: The Lost Days," we follow the path of Jason's resurrection - from the failed attempts of Talia al Ghul to use her father's Lazarus Pits on Jason's behalf, to his retraining and a refocusing of his mission, to help the truly helpless, while shedding any of his previous inhibitions against lethality impressed upon him by his former mentor, the Dark Knight. Previously, "Under the Red Hood" was only available in two separate paperback books, but they were collected for the first time in one volume here. Also, "The Lost Days" has become exceedingly rare, despite its importance to Jason Todd's storyline and characterization. But the best part of this listing is that these books feature a total of 6 different signatures, from the original writer and artists! "Under the Red Hood" is signed by writer Judd Winick, primary artist Doug Mahnke, and revered cover artist Matt Wagner. "The Lost Days" is signed by writer Judd Winick, interior artist Jeremy Haun, and cover artist Billy Tucci. Gathering all of these signatures was no small feat, particularly for comic legends like Winick, Mahnke, and Wagner! These books are in very good condition, but aren't brand new, as they were taken to multiple comic conventions to acquire the signatures. As such, they feature a bit of minor shelf wear, particularly at the lower right corners, as well as a shallow stress line at the top of the back cover of "The Lost Days."
