Description: This is an original 1964 hardcover printing of the American school textbook "Basic French Reader" for students of the French language, written by Julian Harris & Andre Leveque and published by Holt, Rinehart, and Winston. The introductory notes are in English, and all reading selections and accompanying notations are in French. Overall, the copy being offered is in fair condition. As you'll see in my first four photos, the covers have moderate wear, most noticeably along the edges and at the top and bottom of the spine. Inside, the pages are crisp and strongly bound, but many pages--probably a majority of the pages--have written notations and/or marking with pen and pencil (often circling or underlining of the text), and several pages have stains and/or smudges. My photos show many instances of these flaws, so please look at the photos carefully and decide whether or not such marking would be bothersome to you before buying. The price of the book already takes all flaws into account.
