Description: Wonderful Pottery Bowl handmade by Barbara Willis. Measures 5 3/8" tall x 10 1/4" top diameter and heavy at 4 lbs 2oz. Outside is a matte black with interior of glossy blues with yellow greens and a free handed swirl pattern carved into the clay. Unsigned. In 2004 we both were showing at Sanford's Bay Area Pottery Show in Golden Gate Park when I purchased this from her. She described to me how she made this by taking balls of clay and individually pressing them. She was an octogenarian at the time when this was made and a bright, vivacious, kind Woman. CONDITION: Excellent undamaged condition. No chips or cracks. On the rim there is a small 90 degree notch that was in the making. The backside of this shows the continuing organic shape of pressed clay (see last 2 photos). SHIPPING: Due to increasing postal costs and due to weight and size, I have put USPS Parcel Select as the default shipping service with the speedier Priority option as a selectable alternative at checkout if that is what you prefer. Know that the bowl will be thoughtfully packaged to withstand abuse in route. Thank you.
