Description: CDV (carte de viste) photograph of a young woman identified as "Estelle Babcock - married a Mr. Rogers" on the reverse. Estelle Viola Babcock was born 14 March 1856 in Scott, Cortland Co., New York, daughter of Daniel Austin Babcock (1827 - 1877) and Mary Artilla Clarke (1829 - 1884). On the 12th of October 1886, she married Mattson Doughtery Rogers, born about 1851 in Pennsylvania. They immigrated to New Zealand, Tasmania, & Australia, settling in New South Wales before their deaths. Mattson died in 1914 in Burwood, New South Wales and Estelle followed 28 March 1920. Their children include: Cora Estelle Rogers Ferris (1887 - 1929), Jessie Rena Rogers Wise (1889 - 1963), Viola May Rogers (1891 - 1963). This portrait is from the Luce & Silverman photography studio of Cortland, New York and measures 2.5 x 4 inches. Card is in very good to excellent condition for its age, but is not perfect, as expected with a photo over 140 years old. There is aging. Please see photo scans for inspection.
