Aynsley Bone China Cup & Dish Set Westminister Abbey: Elizabeth II/Prince Philip

Description: This vintage Aynsley fine English bone china cup and dish were never used and are in excellent condition. This set commemorates the 1972- 25th wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. Both pieces were never used and are in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or crazing, DESCRIPTION: The front of the cup has a beautiful image of Westminster Abbey. This side also has a royal crown, beneath which are the initials of Her Majesty, as well as a different crown above the intertwined initials 'E P'. The back of the mug features the words "1947 1972 - on the 20th November 1947 Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh were married at Westminster Abbey London". There are also golden bells, blue and yellow ribbons, and either feathers or fleur de lis decorating this side. The inside of the mug also has the following writing: "To commemorate the 25th wedding anniversary of the marriage of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II and H.R.H. Prince Philip 1947 - 1972." The base has the Aynsley England backstamp. There is gilt edging on the rim, the middle of the handle, and around the base. MEASUREMENTS: 9.5 cm high (over 3 and 1/2 inches).
