Description: Awesome Primitive Shabby Worn Carved Wood FOLK ART Garden Planter Click images to enlarge Description VINTAGE GARDEN PLANTER Interesting and unusual vintage large primitive carved wood garden planter measuring about 11" square and 11" tall. Featuring canted sides, an applied foot and thick 2-1/2" sides, it is made of redwood (I think) - the graining is horizontal and consistent. Dating to the 1930s, this has a unique folk art appeal - almost a sculpture in design. Condition is fair with lots of wear, chipping, rubbing, wood softening to the interior, a loose foot (separation of the nails on one side but still stays in place) and overall wood loss to the inside from contact with water over the years - even with all these issues, it shows beautifully and is perfect in any primitive country display. I've used it for years to hold a bouquet of dried natural pine cones, thistle plants and similar next to my fireplace. Visually interesting with wonderful folk art appeal - nice addition to any collection or display! I've included numerous photos so you can get a better idea of condition - taken both with and without flash. If questions, please contact me - thanks! Pictures sell!
