Description: An amazing AVEM (Arte Vetraria Muranese) Glass Chess Set, hand blown by one of the masters of Murano Glass.Each piece is unique and features flecks of 24k yellow gold. The details on this set are fantastic and incredible. It features black, red, clear and nude colored glass all wrought to give a lifelike image of each depiction of the chess pieces. Although 5 of the pieces have minor damage (all pictured), rest are in excellent condition. This set is not only functional but a work of art as well. Most pieces have Made in Italy, Murano stickers at the bottom. I cannot imagine the time it must have taken to handcraft each piece with such detail. The King and Queen are approx. 7” in height, the pawns about 3” and the rest are in varying sizes of 5” and 6”. The Board measures 21” and is extremely heavy, weighing 20 lbs. This will be carefully packaged and shipped.
