Description: Authentic Ito Yuhan Japanese Shin Hanga Woodblock Print Fuji from TaganouraJapanese shin hanga woodblock print by Ito Yuhan (1882-1951) titled "Fuji from Taganoura" published by Nishinomiya Yosaku in the 1930's. Signed at the lower right corner of the image and with the publisher's mark in the left margin. Rice Paper: 15 7/8" x 10 7/8" (image: 14 1/2" x 9 3/4"). Paper Fibers clearly visible along edges and on the back.The painterly effect in Ito Yuhan's woodblock prints is achieved through the elimination of black key block lines. Good, clean overall condition with no tape or tape stains to the back. The print is faded and a fade line is visible at the bottom edge of the image. There are a few age spots as shown but these are minor in our opinion.There is some slight vertical waviness in the paper at the top corner The wood bamboo frame with a beautiful beveled wood backing is not original to the print. On the back is provenance for a print attributed to Suzuld Harunobu entitled Iris Laevigatd. We will leave this attached as it is interesting.On the inside of the wood backing is a penciled note that says:For Rep Beauty$ or the British Pound Symbol 275.00and something we can't make out – see photosAlso the remains of a stickerArt Measures Approximately:15.7/8" Tall10.7/8" WideFrame Measures Approximately:There is a hand cut matting piece that holds the woodblock in the frame, but we don'tthink it is original to this piece.
