Description: This is the real deal! An authentic 1920s beaded and sequin flapper dress. The straps feature long black bugle beads and rows of sequins sewn down to sheer tulle. The bodice has two bands of beaded/sequined trims and a decorated center panel. The skirt has 3 layers of tulle and the entire dress is lined in black satin. The top two layers of black tulle are layered handkerchief hem skirts with sequins sewn along the edges. The bottom layer of tulle on the skirt hangs down straight and features large beaded & sequined motifs. Both on the sides of the bodice and the sides of the skirt are long beaded tassels. There are two additional tassels hanging on the front of the bodice. One of the tassels appears to have been smushed - see picture. The satin body of the dress appears very sturdy and there are no rips or holes that I could find. There are small holes and snags on the tulle but they are hard to notice in the overall splendor of this lovely dress. Naturally there are some loose threads that hold the beads and sequins so you will want to secure them before wearing the dress. There are a few areas where the tulle has changed color and slightly lightened - more noticeable on camera than in person. This dress is “estate sale fresh” and has not laundered or dry cleaned. Here are the measurements… Armpit to Armpit - 17” Bust -34” Waist - 34” Hips - 48” Shoulder to waist - 17” Shoulder to hem- 48” I have eyeballed this dress and did my best to point out the obvious flaws and features in equal measure but there is a good chance, given the age of this dress, I might have missed something - a hole, a stain, a loose thread.
