Santa’s mode of transport is not his familiar sleigh, but a festive plane captained by his trusty reindeer. The island’s plentiful Red Crabs act as Santa’s little helpers, handing out gifts to some of the island’s unique and diverse wildlife, seen gathering excitedly on the minisheet. They include the Common Noddy, Red-footed Booby, Emerald Dove, Abbott’s Booby, Sacred Kingfisher, Christmas Island Hawk-Owl, Christmas Island White-Eye, Christmas Island Thrush, Lister’s Gecko, Blue-tail Skink, Hawkesbill Turtle and the Scalloped Grass-Yellow Butterfly.
