Description: About the Audio Quest Rocket 33 Many of today's speakers can be "bi-wired." They feature two sets of connectors, which provide separate inputs for the woofer and tweeter. Until now, bi-wiring required using two regular sets of speaker cables, but Audio Quest's innovative Rocket 33 single bi-wire cable delivers the sonic benefits of conventional bi-wiring along with much lower cost and simpler hookup. They enable your speakers to reproduce sound as cleanly and faithfully as possible using a single cable. You'll enjoy sound that's spacious, finely detailed, and beautifully balanced. On the "amp" end, each bi-wire cable features a single set of banana plugs (one positive, one negative), for attaching to your amp's speaker terminals. On the "speaker" end, there are two sets of banana plugs (two positive, two negative), for attaching to both sets of terminals on your compatible speaker. The benefits of bi-wiring When a full-range signal is sent through a single speaker cable, the interaction of the magnetic fields created by the different frequencies can negatively impact the sound produced by your speakers. In particular, large amounts of bass energy can interfere with more delicate high frequencies. Bi-wiring transfers audio signals separately to your speaker's woofer and tweeter inputs, eliminating this distortion-causing interaction. If your speakers can be bi-wired, they should be for optimum performance. Solid conductors improve accuracy and clarity Each of the cable's six conductors is a single, unbroken strand of pure copper, which ensures highly efficient signal transfer with minimal loss. Solid conductors eliminate electrical and magnetic interference that can add brittleness to the sound of multi-strand conductor cables. Precise cable geometry The Rocket 33 uses a precise combination of different size conductors: 21-, 19-, and 17-gauge conductors for the high-frequency signal, and 20-, 18-, and 16-gauge conductors for the low-frequency signal (see more photos). This difference in diameter reduces the possibility of distortion caused by any particular conductor's sonic "signature." There was noting wrong with the Elac cables but I had upgraded my speakers to the bi-wireable Monitor Audio Silver 700 G speakers. The Rocket 33 cables significantly improved the sound from my speakers. It was clearer, and more detailed. Transients are better defined. The treble is smoother and more liquid. The bass is more impactful but not bloated or smeared. In all, the Rocket 33's made for a more musical presentation that has increased my enjoyment of my system. There is one caveat; I cannot tell how much of the improvement is due to better cable quality and how much is due to bi-wiring. In the end, it does not make to me because the because the increase in sound quality is well worth what I spent on the cables.Was this helpful? I really did not think I could rationalize spending twice as much on speaker wire than I spent on my entire system, Sony Str DH 190 and Polk Monitor 40 speakers. Don't get me wrong, the Sony and Polks were great, but the Rocket 33 have taken it to a new level. The bass is much deeper and fuller. The treble is much cleaner and crisp. The separation is much better as well the spacing. I did need to get Banana plug to wire/ pin adapters ( 4mm female) to connect to the spring clips on the Sony as well as the speakers but they worked great. So glad I bought them. I believe they are unique in their design not requiring cutting open regular cables attaching interconnects and then taping up the opened area of the cable. They arrive ready to go and look fantastic. Each cable has two connectors on the Amp end and four connecters on the Speaker end. They are a very high quality product. My first sound check proved that they clearly open up the mid-range and tweeters of my Polk Speakers. The overall sound improvement is very noticeable and very much worthwhile. SO happy I did. I hooked up the bi-wired bananas to my old pair of Focal-JMLAB tower speakers (need an upgrade there as well), to my sturdy Musical Fidelity 3Si amp. First, they look beautiful and have a nice weightiness to them and the bananas are nice and snug. You can tell it's good equipment out of the box. Second, I noticed a different immediately on the clarity coming through the speakers, whether streaming on the Bluesound Node, or listening to a CD on my Marantz SA8005 or listening on a vinyl on Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Esprit it all sounded BETTER. Bass and treble are more defined and have an attack and punch that wasn't there before. The soundstage grew in height, width, and depth with an airiness that wasn't there before. You know its good when your wife walks in and says "wow what did you do to the stereo?" I was skeptical at spending that kind of money on speaker cables but it was worth every penny and then some.
