Don't miss out on the opportunity to add this high-quality spanner to your collection today. Before doing anything with an Atmos clock lock the pendulum by moving the locking lever to the right hand end of it's travel. This lever is in the base of the clock or inside the open door below the level of the pendulum depending on the model number. The regulator on most Atmos clocks covers a variation of about plus or minus 20 seconds per day. Each division gives plus or minus 4 seconds / day. The top of the clock needs to be exposed in order to make this adjustment.Always wear vinyl gloves when handling an Argos clock.Access to the regulator lever can be obtain either by opening the front hinged door or removing the front panel of the clock but this will not permit the change of range needed if the regulator has reached the limit on the ‘fast’ or ‘slow’ ends of the range, which is when the spanner is needed. To use the spanner to provide a new range of adjustment you must remove the top cover of the clock. This is simple to do. For clocks whose top section is removed in one piece the pins holding the cover onto the base have to be pulled out. For clocks which are in good condition these pins will not come out completely. On some worn clocks the pins can be removed completely. When these pins have been pulled into the out position the case cover can be lifted off. Or, for the clocks with front opening it is necessary to remove the four corner screws on the top of the clock, holding the top on.STOP at this point! When you lift off the top lid of the clock the front opening glass panel will be free to fall onto the floor and smash. Therefore, be prepared and take hold of the front panel so that it does not fall when you lift the top off the clock.Try to do this work on a flat surface with plenty of room around so that nothing can fall from the working area.Having cleared the top of the clock the spanner can be located as shown on the Ebay pictures. Then, whilst holding the spanner in the left hand the regulating lever can be moved without moving the adjustment.I have added these instructions in response to a buyers request for information on the spanners use. They are not intended to be definitive instructions and there may well be models of Atmos clocks which are not covered by them.
