Side Note: On April 6th, 1947, in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, Broadway's best were honored at the inaugural Tony Awards (Antoinette Perry Awards) ceremony. ARTHUR MILLER took home the very first Tony Award presented for "Best Author" and ELIA KAZAN was honored with the first Tony Award for "Best Director" for their work on "All My Sons" .....
