Description: This is an Art Nouveau antique hip 7 oz hip flask featuring a Gibson Girldrinking champagne surrounded by lush vines and grapes Plus ithas a collapsible shot glass integrated into the cap. Engraved with MA Masters* The front has a small dent in the foliage covering the girl's shoulder - youcan see it in photograph number 2, and as might be expected in something of this age the back has lost most of the plate as you can see in the last photo.Otherwise there are no dings, chips or bruises on the body or cap. It has featured in my collection for many years and always pulls oohs and ahh.Make it yours, cause it will be a long time till you see another like this one. Finally, this flask is sent to you from my smoke-free household in the US * Monograms usually are seen as a detriment to the value of a piece. However, there is very sound reasoning that this doesn't apply to flasks in use during prohibitionas this piece certainly was. With prohibition came the practice of taking a flask, not onlyfor personal consumption but too share with others - so at a party there might be a number of flasksbeing passed around and knowing ownership was important.Additionally, when dining in a restaurant it was common for a good size flask to be handed to the waiterwho would then serve drinks in the normal way - again requiring flask identification. So when it comesto flasks, monograms and names are an important signifier that a flask was actually in use in the restaurants and parties of the day. If you like what you see, the store has more hip flasks, cocktail shakers and prohibition whiskey prescriptions, along with an ever-changing selection of picture discs (rock n roll multi-media art) from 1919 to 1990s . Lots to discover and entertain.
