Description: This extremely rare Art Deco Kingsway Silver Company (England) silverplate bell-type cocktail shaker. While some of these bell-type shakers can be found, they are rarely found with a rounded bottom such as this one! The 10 1/2 inch tall piece has a bulbous silverplated body (with footed bottom...about 5 1/2 inches wide at widest point) that tapers up to a gorgeous turned wood handle with line decorations. On the top of the wood handle is a round silverplated lid that unscrews. The total wood and silverplated handle unscrews from the hollow bulbous body. The handle has a stirring attachment inside with 4 claws. The strainer is on the top of this handle. The inside of the handle has a hollow tube. Unscrew the top finial and pour your stirred, strained spirits! Fully marked on the bottom with the Kingsway Plate logos and "5 EPNS A1 KINGSWAY PLATE MADE IN ENGLAND" with a stock # "5824". These marks date the piece from the 1920's to the 1930's. In nice condition with a small, shallow 3/4 inch dent on lower bottom of the body and a few quite minor scratches, commensurate with age and use
