Description: An original antique 1920s Art Deco women's black satin cloche hat. The black satin hat has a sculptured look with pin tucks around the side of the hat. It is wrapped with a band of brown woven straw which is bordered with a dark shiny straw like material with a circular accent on the right side centered with a large clear rhinestone accented silver tone metal V. Hat is fully lined. The lining on the inside of the hat is marked Page of Boston 37 Temple Place Paris and New York. The only mention of this business is from a directory of Boston milliner businesses from 1922 which lists a Page J Waldo at this address. There is some light wear with fraying and unraveling to the shiny straw along the bottom of the circle on the right side but it is in otherwise excellent condition. The fabric is soft and intact with no tears or holes. It does seem sturdy enough to be worn with care since it is fragile due it's age.
