Description: This week I'm offering a number of old non-sport cards from various vintage sets. Around the turn of the last century, baking soda manufacturer Dweight & Co. (also known as Arm & Hammer) began issuing absolutely beautiful sets of cards depicting various wild birds of America, with the theme of their being useful to crops and so forth. The images are full color paintings that are striking, and the cards were popular enough for a total of ten series to be issued altogether. The cards were issued from 1915 to the late Thirties. The first four series were 30 cards each and came in two different sizes. Later series consisted of 15 cards each. The cards remain highly popular with collectors. This is a near set of the Fourth Series (larger size), dating from 1924. It's missing only #12, 19, 25 and 26. Condition is very nice, with only a very few cards showing creases or other flaws (see scans for condition). Not bad for cards that are over ninety years old. This would be a terrific addition to any collection! Payment is via PayPal; shipping is $2.25 for First Class Mail, and postage will be combined for multiple winnings.
