There is an aerial view of the "new" MetroCenter Mall, Looking south on Central Avenue (Del E. Webb Corporation, Greyhound Corporation, Armour & Companies), there is also a centerfold picture of downtown Phoenix, with the major buildings identified by number. There is a photo of "Arizona's tallest building" (at least in 1975), the Valley Center. There are also photos of the Phoenix Civic Plaza, Arizona State Capitol building, and the Arizona (LDS) Temple (Photos of both outside and inside). This issue features some of Phoenix favorite sons - Lou Grubb Automobile Dealership, Karl Eller, CEO of Phoenix-based Combined Communications Corporation, Dr. Lincoln Ragsdale, member of Phoenix Airport Advisory Board, Best-seller novelist, Glendon Swarthout, The Talleys of Talco Engineering Company, and Architect Bennie M. Gonzales. The article entitled "Symbols of Our Mutual Inheritance" have some very nice Native American art with patriotic themes (see scanned picture.) Modern Phoenix is intermingled with photos of Native American Dress, Jewelry and artwork. There are three pictures from the turn of the century with photos of old cars, horse and buggy and trolley cars. What a great piece of history this is.
