Developed and built for the "Batallón de Ingenieros Mecanizado 11", 11th Mechanized Engineer Battalion of the Argentine Army The original "GLOTON" model was developed by Major Damian Rosatti, founder of a group from the province of Entre Rios (Argentina) that teaches self-defense, "Reacción, Defensa y Ataque" ("Reaction, Defense and Attack" - http://www.rda-cdc.com.ar/). Several artisans manufacture it individually, being the company Yarara the one that manufactures the model in an industrial way. The Yarara model was designed jointly with RDA to adapt it to mass production. The model was born in August 2015, delivering 100 knives to the Argentine Army's 11th Motorized Engineer Battalion where Major Rosatti was located. Its name, "GLOTON" refers to an animal known as wolverine, which stands out for its robustness, fierceness and adaptability. Full tang wide spear point blade knife. Double concave cutting edge, excellent grip and thumb groove to guide the cut, it has a Spyderco type serrations on main edge close to the ricazzo for safety belt, or ropes or complementary use. On the back it has a large angled robust glass breaker type pommel with lanyard hole and square serrations to secure the fingers' grip. It is laser engraved on the right ricazzo: YARARA brand name and logo INDUSTRIA ARGENTINA (Made in Argentina) AC CROMO VANADIO ALEMAN (German Chrome-Vanadium Steel)And GLOTON on the blade. The handguard has a thumb rest and a half moon with square serrations to secure the thumb's grip in the spine, and a hole for survival use in lower part. The scales are made of black Santoprene (polymer) of USA origin, with non-slip texture fixed with three torch screws to the tang. The sheath is made of sewed green polyester cordura with inner black EVA rubber sheets, it has two eyelets at the end to pass a leg tie rope (it pass through handguard hole too), a wide belt loop that can be opened at back due to a Velcro closure (you can pass the belt or open the loop), and has a hilt strap secured to the loop with a steel rivet that close with Velcro and has an easy-to-grasp black plastic tip.
