Description: ARGENTINE 1909 MAUSER BAYONET CREST MATCHING SN BIS SUFIX Original MODELO ARGENTINO 1909 Mauser Bayonet RARE, with MATCHING SN with "BIS" sufix. Bayonet is German made showing the MARKINGS with slant letters: "WEYERSBERG KIRSCHBAUM & CO. SOLINGEN", a detailed, crisp ARGENTINE COAT of ARMS, Modelo Argentino 1909 and the SN BIS sufix. The blade is bright in great shape and UNSHARPENED (as it should be) with slight imperfections, scattered aging spots-discoloration-dry cosmoline, scratches/handling marks, including a light one where the scabbard stud sets, very usual to find. Remaining medal in pommel and cross hilt is bright with some aging spot, normal handling marks with the release button in good working order. There is a small cluster of freckles on the top of the croshilt between the blade and the ring; the rest of the croshilt has aging toning spots and normal scratches/handling marks. Pommel has a "T-O" mortise to accommodate the cleaning rod. Wood grips are solid walnut with NO cracks, NO chips, NO gauges; wood scales exhibit few indentations-nicks, scratches-handling marks; the rivets are in good condition. Matching SN with BIS sufix scabbard has a couple of tiny shallow dents; it shows a mixed blue-gray-plumb aging patina with discoloration, fading, thinning, some aging spots, handling marks-scratches. One of the throat rivets on the scabbard is missing. The scabbard fits the bayo perfectly. Overall a very nice piece; 1909 Modelo Argentino, German made, very difficult to find with a SN with "BIS" Sufix with matching scabbard, that would add another rare variety to your fine advance collection.
