Outer cloth shows some general rubbing/handling and edge-wear: light bumping to the corners; light rubbing to the boards; light wear to the foot and crown of spine; foxing to the half-title of both volumes (as is common); period booksellers stamp on the title page of both volumes (see Images 7 & 16); fraying to the bottom edge of the fold-out map in V2 (see Image 21).
