You can go past F32 for a touch more depth of field but you will gain diffraction with will degrade your photos. The rule of thumb is the the sharpest aperture is 3 stops down from the smallest aperture. F11 should be the sharpest aperture on this lens. The X sync will fire a flash when a sync cord is attached.
