Description: Antique/1890-1910 Hand-painted Gilded Limoges Dessert Plate/Shallow Bowl 8'' Diameter. Maker's Marks state: GREEN "Limoges Script Logo, France Patent applied for "; RED "Cahrenfeldt Limoges France in print and "179'' In Red Script. 8'' in diameter, the plate has a 'scooped' shape, not 'flat'. It looks more like a Shallow Dish. when viewed from the side. Snow White underside with a slight base rim(about 1/4'' high). Full Maker's Marks.Refer to photos for more information. A Gilded Scalloped Rim frames a 2'' wide Butter Yellow Border that has a thin Gold Band containing the Center. The Rim is gloriously Rich, with a Molded and Gilded Rococo design and tiny Pink Roses and Forget-Me-Nots, with miniscule Green Leaves, dotted with White 'Pearl" Centers. Completely Hand-painted. SUPERB unused condition with NO utensil marks, though there is some light ' dust speckling' under the very shiny White glaze before firing. NO crazing, no chips, cracks, hairlines, fleabites, staining, loss of color or design.Part of my personal collection; this was one of my first purchases back in the very early 1960's, and stored.NO returns.
