Description: Solid Brass HEAVY DUTY trunk lock marked "YALE, The Yale & Towne Mfg. Co. Stamford, CONN. U.S.A.". The main lock piece is 6" tall and 2 1/4" wide at the base. The top receiver piece is 3 1/2" wide by 2 3/8" tall. Attach the base with a bold and the top with trunk nails or rivets. With two (2) original Yale keys. Please examine the pictures as part of the description. Well made heavy solid brass. This style lock needs a hole approx. 1 5/8" diameter for the top receiver piece. The lock has two moving locking tabs and will lock automatically when closed. There are a few small dings on the lock but nothing that affects its functioning well. The lock weights about 1 lb. 5 oz. unpacked! MUCH heavier weight than the new reproduction locks. A popular style lock for high quality trunks of the early 1900's. The old original trunk locks prior to the 1950's didn't have those padlock hasp loops on them as the repro's do. A great looking lock if you want something original looking for your trunk.
