Description: This is a lovely antique LOUIS XV all sterling silver SERVING BREAD BASKET, TRAY or BOWL by the Whiting Manufacturing Co, and dates from the late 1800's. Note the stunning detail of the openwork. This piece measures 10 1/8" in length, 8 3/8" in width, and stands about 1 1/2" tall. There is a fancy 3-lettered monogram within the center of the bowl. This server is in great estate condition; there are a few spots within the bowl at the edges (see photos; please excuse ceiling/ light fixture and other reflections) and this piece enjoys a rich patina. The weight is 208 grams or 7.3 standard ounces. The base is marked with the old Whiting logo, sterling, and the number 3869. Shipping is via priority mail and includes insurance.
