Description: The Western Pottery Company in Denver began as the Queen City Pottery (1892-1905) and then changed to The Western Pottery Manufacturing Co. from 1905 to 1919 when it dropped the word "manufacturing." It stopped making utilitarian pottery around 1930 when it switched to deocrative and brightly colored art pieces until they closed in the 1960s. We have owned this crock for many decades but need to downsize due to our age and a move into much smaller living quarters. This is a solid crock with no chips or cracks in the pottery. There is a glaze loss which occured before we acquired it. The interior and upper edge has aquired stains long before we had it from "who knows what" but it is clean. Check out our other listings which include a 5 gallon Red Wing crock. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Thanks for shopping with us!
