Description: This listing is for a rare antique / Vintage PROTOTYPE metal toy / statue of a RNLI Lifeboat man by Johillco aka John Hill & Co. Unlike most of the company’s items, this one has a fancier base with the words “copyright of the proprietors” on the back. It was given out as a promotional fund raising item for the RNLI (I believe during or shortly after the second world war ) in a limited run. It is extremely detailed in its casting, making it almost as much a piece of figural sculpture art as it is a toy. Has very nice original black paint- which makes showing that detail off in the photos a little tricky! He has a great mustache though. Comes from a Pittsburgh estate- so it’s traveled a long way! The design is excellent for many rooms and a large variety of decor styles. It makes this an excellent staple piece for your collection, one your friends definitely won’t have! A great militaria / ww2 collectors item, for use display gifting or decor. It is in good condition, with no major damage. Has minor wear from age- see photos.
