Description: This offering is for an antique late 18th to very early 19th century century copper pot for open hearth cooking. The pot measures app. 4" high and 7.5" in diameter not counting the handle.The strap handle measures app. 1 3/8" across at the widest point, it is attached to the pot at the top with a wonderful large heart shaped finial and ends at the bottom in a very nice curl. The base shows a keyed joint construction which runs up the side and is hidden under the handle. It looks like the inside may have been tinned but it's been nearly entirely worn away from use. The condition is outstanding with no dents, creases, bends or repairs. The copper has not been cleaned in years and has an excellent patina.
