Description: Inherited this trunk from relatives. One born in 1898, the other, 1901. Unsure if they inherited it or purchased themselves, thus I don't know the date of manufacture. Measures 36" from side to side (width), 20" from front to back and 23" tall. The hardware is metal, however I can't tell what the material is (it does have a gold color - could be brass). The front closure closes but does not lock. It can be re-opened fairly easily. There is no key. The other front closures do operate properly. In the photo of the open trunk, cream color paper can be seen resting on the interior bottom (in the past, paper was used to line drawers, suitcases and trunks - thus the paper itself is vintage and may be a clue to the trunk's age). Handles are made of leather. The trunk material itself seems to be wood with a lacquer finish but I am not positive. It is heavy and sturdy. The trunk has a wonderful 'patina' - the dings, dents and chips give it great character. I have used it to storage other antiques, blankets and any other items deemed needing good protection. I'm selling because it's just time to let another enjoy it moving forward. MAKE A REASONABLE OFFER! I'M OPEN TO LISTENING AND CONSIDERATION. I PROMISE IT WON'T BE $10 OFF OR A 2% DISCOUNT! LET'S MAKE A DEAL THAT WORKS FOR BOTH PARTIES!
