Description: For sale is an Antique vintage primitive American Hooked rug with decorative floral designs. Nice muted colors with a relaxing aesthetic. The fabric is very thick and sturdy. The rug is in good condition. It does have some wear which lends to it's old character. American hooked rugs began to be created in the 1840's and were a frugal way of making rugs using extra bits of fabric or pieces of old clothes. They often used a burlap backing as that was readily available from feedsacks. Large amounts of hooked rugs were made in the US from 1900-1950.
