Description: Incredibly rare and phenomenal piece of Victorian history! Made by Meriden Brittania Co between 1895 and 1898, this elegant solid sterling silver basket has a curved glass bowl nestled inside it, etched with leaves, flowers, and berries. It is hallmarked on one of the feet, and the silver weight alone is 127 grams. This company was bought out in 1898 so not only are these pieces relatively rare, they're even rarer to find in the top-of-the-line solid sterling vs silver plate. This would have been quite the bougie piece at the time, and I can't find record of any others like it existing. It is in good condition with no flaws that I can see. Please see pictures for details and measurements. Thanks for looking!
