Description: DESCRIPTION: Super cool Victorian Gold-Filled hinged bangle bracelet by BATES & BACON, Circa 1900featuring an open-mouth Bear LOCKET. The Bear is 3-dimensional with his mouth open and paws peeking out. Engraved on the back “Hellvina Boisvert” (a friend did some research and believes this bracelet may have belonged to Hellvina Boisvert, born 1872 from Canada and resided in Rhode Island - pretty cool that she was able to trace this back to the possible owner). There is a paper photo of a man inside. Makes you think about who this belonged to. Was it a gift for a special occasion from a loved one? Is the man pictured inside her loved one? I am sure this was very special to the original owner and if this bracelet could tell us where it has been, wouldn’t that be something! Hinged on one side and a hidden push claspThe bear has tiny glass ruby paste cabochons in his eyes and a faceted paste in his mouth. Ornate scrolling design flanking both sides of the locket. The ornate design is attached by tiny screws on both sides, and one side is loose. I am sure this could easily be repaired by a jeweler if desired. Functions properly as it is now.
