Description: Antique Very Lovely Kestner Bisque Doll on Leather Body Approx. 23" As Is Condition This 125 year old doll has been through a LOT. It came from an old shed in Shutesbury MA. Extremely lovely face - Blue sleep eyes and partial open mouth with teeth. In photos, you can see all the cracks and all the old repairs with one chip missing on the neck. On the inside of the head is the roman numeral VI. One finger is broken on the bisque arms. Her auburn hair is in good condition. The original label is intact on the deteriorating leather body - "Nr. 8". The Corset is amazingly realistic and detailed - even has 'stays' within the stitched channels. It's in good condition but needs cleaning. The little shoes are wonderful, but also need cleaning. We didn't dare take the socks and shoes off, because we don't know what we're doing . . . The knees are jointed. See photos for closer details. We included the little pink and organza jacket - which could be original to her since it's sewn with lots of little tucks and pleats - plus the collar is designed just so it can form a bow at the neck. This jacket is in very rough condition but could be used as a pattern for what she had originally worn.
