Description: This is a very rare antique Venetian millefiori bead with an Ashanti tribal ethnic 'gold' washed metal band center decoration which comes via the African trade. These tribally made metal bead bands were applied by the Ashanti people and are referred to as being 'gold washed' but I do not think the process involves gold it is just referring to the coloration of the metal wash used on the band. This antique bead is in great condition with surface wear. This specimen measures 17.35mm long by 9.74mm wide and would be perfect for jewelry making or adding to your African trade bead collection.
