High quality lithography art print of a scene of the USS Constitution 'Old Ironsides' ship on the high seas, with clipper ships sailing behind her. The US Flag can be seen just at the back of the ship. Stunning. The artist's technique is very soft and dreamy, but there are gorgeous minute details and depth that make the viewer feel as if they are transported back in time right into the picture.See all pics and use zoom. Highly collectible. In amazing shape for age. Will look beautiful hung on any wall. For a collector of ship or Naval art, or seascapes, this piece is wonderful. Ships fully insured and packed with great care to make sure it arrives in tip top condition. USS Constitution, also known as Old Ironsides, is a three-masted wooden-hulled heavy frigate of the United States Navy. She is the world's oldest commissioned naval warship still afloat. She was launched in 1797, one of six original frigates authorized for construction by the Naval Act of 1794 and the third constructed. The name "Constitution" was among ten names submitted to President George Washington by Secretary of War Timothy Pickering in March of 1795 for the frigates that were to be constructed. Joshua Humphreys designed the frigates to be the young Navy's capital ships, and so Constitution and her sister ships were larger and more heavily armed and built than standard frigates of the period. She was built at Edmund Hartt's shipyard in the North End of Boston, Massachusetts. * Please check my Store under Vintage Art for many more vintage and antique art prints and paintings, of all eras and styles, I am listing my large collection *Please note the following, dear fellow shopping enthusiasts: I strive to give you the best service possible.
