The brothers took over their father Job Ridgway's pottery works in 1814 and continued to operate until 1830. Their factory produced fine bone china, porcelain, and enamel items, including tea sets, cups, saucers, and jugs. The Ridgway pottery is known for its high-quality craftsmanship and elegant designs. After 1830, the brothers went their separate ways, with John continuing at the Cauldon Place works and William moving to the Bell Works.
