Description: This has got to be the oldest candle mold I've had. It's an Antique Tin Six Candle Mold; Very Early with Strap Handle; No Base. I start thinking Jane Austen when I see something like this and realize how much it was used and how critical it was. Candles were not burned unnecessarily, because everyone in the family knew how much time was needed to make more. I like everything about it, especially the age wear and the solder breaks. I also like the fact that the base is gone and you could actually wire this one with little Christmas lights. There is one just like this one in the Metropolitan Museum and they date it 1800 to 1830. Enjoy !! Be sure to check out my other listings. I'll be glad to combine shipping when possible. Thanks for looking!
