Description: ANTIQUE "The Pioneers" Avon Ed., James Fenimore Cooper (circa 1890's) HC, Lupton This antique copy of "The Pioneers" (subtitle "The Sources of Susquehanna") shows no specific publishing date. However, there is an inscription on the inside of the front pages that gives a date of 1893, so the publishing date must be prior to that. There is darkening on of the pages due to the age of the book but all pages are very readable. One of the pages is dog-eared (shown in photo). The hardcovers show age wear (see photos) and there is an "Ex Libris" sticker on the inside of the front cover from the previous owner. The book came originally from a pipe-smoking household, but it has been stored in a non-smoking, non-pet environment.
