I am unsure if this is Japanese or Chinese, but it came with a colleciton of all Japanese books. The title of the book mentions The Five Hundred Arhats and there are portions inside mentioning the Kyoto Museum. I am assuming it is some art book involving the Chinese art scroll piece titled "The Five Hundred Arhats". There is writing and illustrations in the books. There is some wear from use, age & storage, but overall it is still in good condition.
