Description: Antique Thai (Siam) Rattanakosin Period (1782-1932) SITTINIG BUDDHA seated in the Siddhasana Posture (perfect pose) with his downward gazing eyes showing his calm and meditative state, while on a Stepped Throne and clad in Royal Attire reflecting the Thai Royal Court. He has a headdress leading to an elongated Ushnisha (divine connection). It was crafted during the Rattanakosin Period, and I believe around 1890 to 1930, but it could be earlier. It was lacquered in Red and Black and Gilded in Gold, which shows where the Gold Gilding has worn down. It is in Good Condition and shows some wear which is commensurate with its age and still maintains most of its Gold Gilding. The tip of the Ushnisha has been bent (often broken off). It measures 9 1/2 inches tall and bears its Chord Holes verso. A dynamic Bronze that would enhance any Asian Collection or would make a great piece of decor. Thank you for viewing this great Thai Bronze, have a wonderful day and be good to one another. Thank you for looking and be good to one another! Note: We give as much detail as possible and always add ample photos but are willing to add more. We ship within 3 days and either cover the cost of shipping or contribute to it, to assist our customers. Feel free to ask any questions.
